Purpose:	EPA's National Center for Environmental Research and EPA's National Environmental Research Laboratory will host the Hazardous Substance Research Centers (HSRC) Workshop on Risk Assessment and Monitoring Research. The focus of the meeting will be to present and discuss EPA's intramural Superfund research program and the HSRC research related to contaminant detection, measurement, and monitoring. The goals of the meeting are to disseminate research results; improve coordination between the Superfund intramural program and the STAR research programs; and provide EPA's regional offices and the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response with an opportunity to comment on the relevance of the research program and suggest new directions for the future. The expected outcome of the workshop is to provide HSRC grantees with a better understanding of the EPA-supported Superfund research and the research needs of the EPA Superfund program.
