| Title: | Sustainability, Well-Being, and Environmental Protection: What’s an Agency to Do? |
| Date: | |
| Location: | Ronald Reagan Building Horizon Room 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington, DC 20004 |
| Contact: | Rich Iovanna, (202) 564-9887, iovanna.rich@epa.gov Tina Conley, (202) 343-9829, conley.tina@epa.gov |
| Purpose: | EPA's Office of Research and Development
is sponsoring this forum to help EPA managers, staff, and others understand
the Agency and how its core activities are being
influenced by a concern for, and consideration of,
future generations. Economists and others will participate
in four panel discussions during this day-long forum.
The first panel will deal broadly with the significance
of sustainability to the EPA. The remaining sessions
will provide an opportunity to “roll up your
shirt sleeves” and get down to specifics, covering
the effects of sustainability on policy design and
assessment, and how environmental quality and societal
well-being are measured at the national level.
