Nanotechnology: Small Parts, Big Deal

Nanotechnology research at Oregon State University just got a big boost. The US Environmental Protection Agency awarded the school two grants, totaling 600-thousand dollars.
The research has been criticized in the past for its production, which was harmful to the environment. Researches say now, the grant money will be used with safety as a top priority.
Dr. Robert Tanguay of the OSU Research Team says, "This is just the beginning point where Oregon will be the center of the safe building of nano materials. In order to get the benefits, you have to be safe."
They will also use the grant to study the relationship between characteristics of nano-particles, like size and shape, and how they effect humans.
