| Purpose: | The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will co-sponsor a meeting that will address real-world applications and solutions for microbial risk assessment. The meeting will include presentations on the mission-directed applications of risk assessment in multiple federal agencies. Technical programs focusing on current data needs and research advances in microbial risk assessment will cover the state-of-the-science in hazard identification/characterization, exposure assessment, dose-response, risk characterization, and progress in risk perception and communication. This forum will allow risk assessors to showcase their research and collaborate with scientists, risk managers, and stakeholders from academia, private sector organizations, and federal agencies. This meeting is open to the public. |
