New EPA Video Highlights Biodiversity Research Program

Biodiversity and Human Health scientist Montira Pongsiri discusss biodiversity-human health connections in the research sponsored by the EPA STAR Research Program.
(Washington DC– April 09, 2008) Dr. Montira Pongsiri describes
the EPA's upcoming research through a new interdisciplinary program designed
to understand how maintaining healthy ecosystems and biodiversity can protect
people from emerging infectious diseases such as West Nile virus and Lyme
disease. EPA has partnered with the World Health Organization in designating
April 7, 2008 as World Health Day, and has released the video to mark this
partnership.
