Title: Sustainability of the Filtrón for Microbial Disinfection
University of Colorado at Boulder students will evaluate the long-term effectiveness of a specific point-of-use device for water disinfection in developing countries. About 20% of the world's population lives without access to safe water. One effective device for producing potable water is the Filtrón, a ceramic filter coated with colloidal silver, which is manufactured locally in several developing countries.
