Title: Nanostructured Material Design for Mercury, Arsenic, and Selenium Capture
Worcester Polytechnic Institute students are using nanotechnology to create a material that captures mercury, arsenic, and selenium produced during coal combustion. These trace elements are a major source of pollution and while coal is not a sustainable energy source, per se, there is still a large demand for it in both the developed and the developing world, making the capture of these trace elements essential.
